Being Human at Work – So Young Kang
From Awaken Group synopsis:
So-Young was invited to speak at the Young Professionals Forum in Tokyo, Japan on September 23, 2014 where she spoke about what it means to be human at work. So-Young discussed the evolution of the corporate world and how companies have gone from emphasis on manufacturing, distribution, and information (all throughout 1900-2010), to today where we live in the ‘Age of the Customer.’
She challenged people to rethink how they work and how they approach work through: re-questioning, re-designing, and re-investing. ‘Humanizing’ companies will require holistic transformation. People will also have to reconsider their own personal roles. For example:
- How do you honor your supervisors and bosses?
- How do you communicate with colleagues?
- How do you bring out the best in those around you?
- How do you design products & services that serve ‘humans,’ not just customers?
